Unique cable railings line stairways in the Charlotte-Douglas Airport

Architect: LS3P & The Wilson Group

Contractor: Turner Construction

CDIA West required more than 2,000 linear feet of our Casino stainless steel cable railing system to facilitate five enclosed stairwells, each spanning five stories. Stainless posts were welded to steel stair stringers, embedded into concrete floors at landings and on the ground level, and finished with round escutcheon plate covers. Grade 316 stainless steel was utilized throughout the project to aid in prevention of corrosion by environmental contaminants and moisture.
