Set against the backdrop of Chattanooga’s majestic Lookout Mountain and revitalized South Broad neighborhood, Erlanger Park serves as the new home of the Chattanooga Lookouts, one of Minor League Baseball’s longest-running franchises. Drawing inspiration from the neighborhood’s manufacturing roots, Sightline Commercial Solutions utilized 3D scanning to design railing systems that blend the city’s industrial heritage with a modern gameday experience – all while meeting an aggressive production timeline of just 45 days to be ready for the Lookouts’ 2026 opening day.
Sightline fabricated and supplied approximately 8,800 linear feet of black anodized guardrail, drink rail and aluminum pipe railing systems for the stadium. The installation incorporated matte black powder-coated mesh infill panels framed with 10-gauge galvanized steel wire in a 3×3 square mesh pattern, creating visual accents that tie into the ballpark’s architecture and industrial surroundings. Perforated drink rail tops were also integrated throughout the venue to enhance convenience while mitigating heat buildup in areas exposed to direct sunlight during games.
Because much of the concrete was cast in place, Sightline relied heavily on 3D scanning during the design process to help maintain precision as on-site conditions evolved during fabrication and installation. Combined with close collaboration between the engineering and production teams, this approach allowed materials to flow consistently to installers while keeping the project on track despite production complexities and a condensed timeline. The result is a visually striking ballpark that seamlessly integrates premium amenities with Chattanooga’s industrial legacy, creating a fan experience that feels authentic to the city while meeting modern expectations for fan engagement and safety.
