For decades, patrons have been pushing hotels and resorts to offer alternatives to stuffy ballrooms for corporate events, weddings and other gatherings. With the continuing rise in popularity of the al fresco experience, architects, designers and facility managers are looking for ways to accommodate more outdoor gatherings and events. Rather than investing in expansion, consider optimizing the space you already have. If that includes a pool area, you’re in luck! With the right equipment, you can turn virtually any sunken area into a dynamic setting for entertainment where guests can walk on water – without divine intervention. Read on to learn more about how Sightline Commercial Solutions works with customers across the hospitality industry to create custom pool cover systems that enhance the utilization, profitability and ambiance of their venues.
Product Highlight
A pool cover system is a modular structure designed to transform a pool into additional square footage and functional space for hosting meetings, receptions and other outdoor activities and events. To engineer a custom pool cover, we combine the strength of our aluminum-framed, 1”-thick acrylic SC90® Clarity Platforms with a variety of support options engineered to withstand harsh chlorine and salt water. The acrylic surface is offered in clear, frosted or white surface options to provide the desired aesthetic.
A popular choice for venues, hotels, resorts and even private residences looking to expand their event hosting capabilities, our pool cover systems can be customized to accommodate different setups ranging from formal gatherings to casual parties. They are engineered to support the weight of furniture, guests and equipment for enhanced safety and stability, and may incorporate lighting or other amenities to amplify the ambiance and comfort of the space.
We’ve done extensive testing on the submerged metal parts and use enhanced coatings that are applied to withstand the most intense pool chemical conditions. Surface and finish options range from hardwood and polyvinyl to acrylic – a popular choice for its translucence, as it creates a glimmering effect, especially in the evening. Acrylic platforms can also allow accent lighting to illuminate through the flooring for added dramatic impact
