In 2023, Sightline Commercial Solutions partnered with JE Dunn Construction and Generator Studio on the landmark CPKC Stadium project in Kansas City, Missouri – the world’s first stadium purpose-built exclusively for a professional women’s sports team. Home to the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the venue opened in March 2024. Our team’s scope included 1,000 linear feet of custom railing, featuring a tailored mix of perforated drink rail, aluminum picket guardrail and aisle rail to meet project requirements. These systems were designed to complement the stadium’s sleek, modern aesthetic while enhancing safety, accessibility and fan enjoyment throughout the venue’s suites, club sections, and standing supporter section. Since opening, CPKC Stadium has hosted a variety of major events, including the 2024 NWSL Championship, the Big 12 Women’s Soccer Tournament, and coming up, the 2025 NCAA Women’s College Cup. As a high-visibility project, the 11,500-seat stadium required thoughtful coordination across not only Sightline’s design, fabrication and installation teams, but also with JE Dunn and Generator Studio. Leveraging our extensive experience working with complex stadium environments, we were able to deliver timely, accurate solutions that aligned with the evolving construction schedule and design intent to help create a space that sets a new benchmark for women’s professional sports venues.
